Schools Schools without trained teachers are just empty buildings. This fact led a US-based team of educators to a successful interview with a Haitian school leader to ask how we could be part of the solution to this problem. For four months, a team of educators committed countless hours to this endeavor.

2011
A small group from the team presented its first professional development seminar at Nehemiah Vision Academy in Haiti. The creation of manuals, PowerPoints, materials, and certificates were the backbone of three years of work with this school. Approximately 10 modules were written in French and English, all presented and revised to a dedicated group of 25 Haitian educators, thanks to the NVM staff and a group of committed people from the Greater Boston area.

2013
Our team concluded that the success and reception of the seminars could benefit more Haitian educators. A pilot was launched to test larger settings. Scripts to guide multiple instructors were drafted to complement the manuals.

2014-2016
TTT (Teachers Training Teachers) expanded to five locations, hosting seminars of 100 participants at each seminar. TTT trained 500 Haitian school leaders and teachers, thanks to US instructors, interpreters, and operations staff. To reach even more educators required a significant number of instructors and interpreters. Our staff unanimously agreed that TTT’s focus was not to be a "sending" organization for people who wanted to serve in Haiti, but that we were in the business of training teachers and school leaders. As TTT transitioned from an original team of volunteers to a staff-led, board-governed non-profit organization, TTT (now, Teaching Training Together) finalized its professional development program to become three seminars over one academic year.

2017-2018
TTT invested time and money to professionally film the instructor portion for the content. Video segments alongside alternating workshops would be standardized and allow the participants to join a simulated seminar. Alongside this project, TTT created a certification program for qualified Nationals to become Facilitators who guided participants through interactive and collaborative workshops.

2018
We created three booklets to represent how TTT hosted seminars with excellence. Two years later, a scholarship program was initiated to seek interested and qualified Partners to launch TTT in their communities. Scholarship Partners were certified through a seven-week remote training program to train 90 teachers and school leaders.

2023
TTT made the very difficult decision to close our country office in Haiti and to terminate future scholarships as we realized that our Partners had great difficulty securing financial support to host seminars. TTT found hope in this difficult decision by creating a more affordable way for teachers and school leaders to be trained. In October, TTT launched two online courses that maintained the same level of excellence and content.

2024-2025
By June, both English courses were launched in French and Spanish to reach more educators around the globe. TTT had reached educators in more than 100 countries around the globe, with over 4000 enrollments in our no cost online courses.

2026
With deep respect for an educator’s time and effort, TTT launched a new way to enroll in our professional development courses through DISCOVER. The DISCOVER courses allow a teacher or school leader to enroll in one module from either course, rather than feeling the pressure to complete the full course. We are committed to no cost, accessible, valuable training for the sake of more effective classroom instruction.
